How fusion works
Combine two Primary Elements to create the result shown in the fusion matrix. The order does not matter: Hydro plus Pyro gives the same result as Pyro plus Hydro. Matching a primary with itself is also a valid recipe, so duplicate primaries have a use beyond supplying more cards.
A normal primary recipe creates a Super Element at level I. Primary Elements themselves do not gain levels. Once you have the result, slot it into a card’s trait slot and read its trigger before choosing the card that will carry it.
| Recipe | Result |
|---|---|
| Hydro + Hydro | Water |
| Aero + Aero | Wind |
| Pyro + Pyro | Fire |
| Geo + Geo | Earth |
| Phumi + Phumi | Light |
| Kali + Kali | Dark |
| Cosmic + Cosmic | Infinity |
| Phumi + Kali | Cosmic Primary Element |
Choose recipes for an actual plan
Hydro plus Pyro creates Steam, which supports element-infused follow-up damage. Aero plus Pyro creates Storm, a trait that can call lightning when the parent card lands hits. Hydro plus Geo creates Plant, a last-card root. These recipes solve different problems even when their ingredients overlap.
Before combining, consider what you give up. Two primaries could become one trait, or they could supply two separate skill variants. If your deck has no reliable way to trigger the new trait, keeping the ingredients may be the stronger choice.
Fusion consumes the selected ingredients. Check the preview, the result’s trigger, and the card you intend to use before confirming. A complete recipe list helps you plan materials; it does not mean every recipe is equally useful for your current hand.
Combining Super Elements
To raise a Super Element by one level, combine two copies with the same name and the same level. Water I plus Water I becomes Water II. Water I plus Water II is invalid, and Water plus Steam is invalid. The normal Super Element cap is V.
Each additional level requires another matching pair. Starting from level-I copies alone, one level-II trait needs two copies, level III needs four, level IV needs eight, and level V needs sixteen. These counts describe the upgrade tree; direct higher-level rewards can reduce the number of lower-level copies you need.
A Primary Element cannot be used as a substitute for a missing Super Element copy, even when it is one of the trait’s ingredients. The two item classes stay separate after the initial recipe.
Cosmic is the important exception
Phumi plus Kali creates a Cosmic Primary Element that can be used in either elemental slot. Choose the primary slot for the card’s Cosmic variant, or the Super Element slot for an extra effective card level. One copy fills one chosen slot; it does not grant both effects at once.
In the Super Element slot, Cosmic becomes its trait form. The card casts one effective level higher and can exceed the normal level cap by one. Removing Cosmic from that slot returns a Cosmic Primary Element to your bag, so you can choose its use again. If the bag is full, removal is refused and the element stays slotted.
Eligible direct Super Element rewards can also offer the Cosmic trait form, including the later boss element branch. The slot determines the effect you receive, so inspect the placement preview rather than assuming the name alone identifies its role.
Cosmic has no ordinary primary-drop weight. Crafting is a reliable recipe route once you have the materials; the Cosmic Well and later eligible boss element choices provide additional special routes. A zero ordinary-drop weight should not be read as proof that crafting is the only possible source.
Fusion is not an elemental reaction
Fusion happens in your inventory and creates an item. A primary variant changes a slotted skill. A reaction happens during combat when elemental applications interact on a target. The same pair of elements can therefore have a recipe result and a separate combat reaction.
Use the fusion matrix to answer “What can I make?” Use the card variant to answer “What will my skill do?” Use the reaction table to answer “What happens when these elements meet in a fight?” Keeping those questions separate makes advanced builds much easier to read.
