Spend on a specific improvement
Shrines and altars turn exploration resources into deliberate upgrades. Some raise a chosen card or stat; others exchange materials for an element or offer a relic selection. Their availability depends on progression and the world’s position within the run.
Several altars are hidden until discovered with sonar. A world that looks empty can still contain a useful station. Once you find one, inspect the price and available result before spending resources that another station may need.
Ascension and training
An Ascension Shrine raises one card by one level, normally for 80 crystals. The card must still be below its stored level cap. These shrines become available through later progression, with a first-world version opening at Ascension 4.
Training stations raise a selected stat for the remainder of the run. The standard Training Altar costs 120 crystals. The Wayside Altar is an early-world option costing 80, while the Statue of Trials appears on the third world and offers up to three purchases at 150 crystals each.
Training strength can depend on the station’s rarity. These are not permanent profile upgrades. They survive travel within the run and disappear when that run ends, so buy them to improve the route you are currently playing.
Wells and infusion
An Elemental Well exchanges three elements for a rare primary from its eligible pool, Phumi or Kali. The Cosmic Well adds Cosmic to its possible results and becomes available at the later progression gate. Neither well lets you choose an unrestricted item from the entire element library.
The Altar of Infusion consumes copies of one chosen element and improves skills of that element for the run. The current cost is two ordinary primaries, or one Phumi, Kali or Cosmic. Each infusion stack adds 25% skill damage and 25% element potency for the chosen element.
Infusion is strongest when several useful cards share the chosen primary. If only one rarely used card benefits, keeping the materials for a different variant or a fusion recipe may be more useful. The altar is single-use, so decide which element supports the whole deck before paying.
Relic Astrolabe
The Relic Astrolabe offers a choice of one relic from three after spending crystals. Its normal price is 110 crystals. It can replace a well on eligible worlds, with a smaller chance for both stations to appear.
This is a selected reward from an offered group, not an unlimited shop. Compare all three effects with the relics you already have, especially when your seven slots are full. A relic that fixes a repeated resource shortage can be a better choice than a higher-rarity effect with little connection to your deck.
Warding Altar and late-run discounts
The Warding Altar is a free, immediate source of temporary weather protection on Mirefall. The current ward lasts two minutes. Watch the ward timer and use the protection to reach meaningful objectives under Acid Rain or Blight Storm.
At Ascension 4 and above, eligible first-world crystal purchases at the Ascension Shrine and Relic Astrolabe receive the configured early-world discount. Always trust the displayed price for the station you found; the wiki’s standard prices describe the baseline rather than every progression adjustment.
